Preferred Modalities

I offer a blend of evidenced-based and experiential therapies particularly meant to release the after-effects of stress and trauma that cause your nervous system to go into a flight, fight, freeze, or fawn response. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, and incorporate principles of interpersonal neurobiology and Polyvagal theory in my therapeutic approach. Additionally, I include elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) when my clients are not specifically looking for depth work.

The Therapy Process

Intake Session

Each journey begins with an initial intake session which aims to collaboratively construct a comprehensive understanding of your needs and goals for therapy. In essence, it's a dedicated time for us to connect and review as much information as possible to form a plan that can yield you the most benefits. Since intake sessions are our first time really getting to know each other, they are typically longer than normal sessions. After the intake, we can begin our recurring sessions.

Recurring Sessions

Recurring sessions typically occur on a weekly basis where we work together to explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Problem navigation and skill building strategies specific to your circumstances are practiced while goals are set to monitor progress over time. Individual assignments may be assigned between sessions to reinforce skills and promote continuous learning.

Moving Forward

New habits are formed, perspectives are applied, and skillset is built to navigate the future challenges of daily life. Clients are able to identify triggers and implement appropriate tools to mitigate difficult situations. Progress is celebrated as the journey of self improvement continues.
